What are your top 3 favorite RUSH cds?

Moving Pictures. Permanent Waves.
Not sure the third...but those two stimulate me musically as well as as a drummer. The rest all have a handful of gems but I think the two I mentioned have all strong songs, the album feels "complete" as a whole. Other albums some tunes are weaker than others IMO.

What do you guys think about the new Rush-material by the way? I really don't care too much about Test for Echo and Vapor Trails. Weak songs and arrangements if you ask me.

A Farewell to Kings [I think this one is
underrated - killer vintage Rush]

Hemispheres [killer 'epic/art-rock' foray]

Exit Stage Left - also containing Peart's best commercially-captured/recorded drum solo, during 'YYZ' [although unfortunately edited/spliced-for-time-constraints in MANY places - the most unforgivable splice occurring about 4:57-8 in the tune; & still another happen'g even earlier [approx. 3:30-2] dur'g his playing of the higher toms [6, 8, 10, & 12"]: they cut out his high-tom rendition of the "Kentucky Derby" signature bugle/horn call]; & still another occurring even earlier during the initial rudimental-snare/HH section. I have 2 bootleg record'gs of 2 live shows during that tour in '81-2 [also from memory] in which the solo is much longer & has more sections - & the thing is that Neil is a stickler for think'g out the parts-to-be-played b4-hand & playing them pretty much exactly the same night-afdter-night]

Power Windows [some great lyrical content & ideas, & good songs - killer for the direction they were trying to head at the time]

Roll the Bones had a few moments on there.

I like Vapor Trails, I really like the strength of the songs. The last couple of songs are really drumistic and flowing. And Peaceable Kingdom is the best song regarding the a-hole terrorists killing 3,000 Americans. The best, no moral relativism and whining there. Gave me chills the first time I heard it.

Neil was SLAMMING, and I mean *SLAMMING*, on this tour. Holy s, he was killing the skins.

I've seen them 20+ times and I've never seen him hit that hard. For THREE HOURS...his set was shaking. It was something else. His Craviotto sounded great too, cracking.
